This Regulation governs the use services in the Tourist Port called PuntaDelMar,
located in Vromolithos - Panteli in the island of Leros. All the below
articles are in accordance with the provisions of the Government Gazette
345 / 10.04.1998 b.c. (General Regulation of Operation of Tourist Ports):
1. Vessel docking rights shall only be granted with the approval of the
port manager.
2. Anchorage shall only be permitted with the expressed instructions of
the Tourist Port administrator.
3. All vessels operators must have the equipment necessary for the safe
anchoring and fastening of their vessels.
4. Vessels shall be tied by the captain-owners to the positions indicated
by the port staff. Any port staff suggestions and the presence of an auxiliary
boat do not relieve the captain-owners of their responsibility. Once moored
in the recommended by the port administrator position, all responsibility
lies with the captain owner.
5. The staff of the tourist port shall have the right to inspect the moored
vessels and to make recommendations to the captain-owners of the vessels.
In case of non-compliance, the administrator shall have the right to take
appropriate action as to ensure the safety of crew and vessel.
6. Any vessel entering the tourist port is obliged to notify the port
manager of the following vessel characteristics: vessel specifications,
crew and passenger information, approved shipping documents, boat insurance
policy, airworthiness certificate and anything else deemed necessary by
the manager under the general tourist port regulation. Owners-Captains
shall complete the forms provided by the administrator and e-mail scanned
or photographic copies of the above documents.
7. Tenders or support vessels may only move directly towards the nearest
port exit and always on the starboard side and at low speed. All other
movements or activities will be performed outside the marked perimeter
of the port for the safety and comfort of all.
8. Waste water management
a) It is strictly prohibited for crews to wash with soap or chemical detergents
any part of the vessel during the duration of the stay.
b) Owners – captains of vessels without contained septic systems
are obliged to declare in which facilities on land (hotels, tavernas, bars
e.t.c.) they will accommodate their personal hygiene and waste water needs
for the duration of their stay. Non compliance to this regulation will
result in immediate expulsion from the marked perimeter of the port and
are subject to legal consequences as stated by Greek law.
